A uniquely stylized statue of a sitting guard with hands clasped in a typical greeting position of namaste. Tribe members living in remote mountain valleys in western Nepal place these guardians at the entrance to sanctuaries, dwellings, road junctions, dangerous places in the mountains, roofs of houses, etc. to protect them from evil forces, demons, illnesses, infertility and other danger.
