Impressive fragment Ushabti with rest of bandage. Ushabti were small statues decorated by requiem texts, which accompanied deceased person to eternity and they were supposed to represent while fulfilling daily tasks in the other world. Ushabti were produced from various material – e.g. blue or green faience, wood, stone or ceramics. Ushabti used to have crossed arms and since New Empire they held various agricultural tools. Uschabti were app. 10-35 cm tall with small box in sarcophagus shape where those statues used to be placed.
